Top Loading Loader

HELP NEEDED – I am thinking of buying a top loading washing machine – need advice!!?

Here in the UK top loading washing machines are rare, the very few offered are the American style ones such as Whirlpool, Adirmal or Maytag etc. I have been pondering about buying one for many reasons, but I don’t have enough information on them.

Firstly, from what I have seen on You Tube the agitation is hardly noticeable, and does not use the two stroke method, the agitators seem to turn in one direction only and the rollover seems very very poor. Secondly, unlike the front loading machines here in the UK the top loaders to not heat the water to a selected temperature, and only rely on the hotness of the water from your tank supply.

I would really like to know if these machines actually really do get the laundry clean and if they are reliable. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated!! x

#1) I’ve had a GE for 7 years, use it 2-3 times a week, have never had a problem. I bought it because it had done best on Consumer Reports tests.
#2) Front load machines clean clothes better, are easier on the clothes, and are more efficient.
